2. Data processed by the app

The app does not require an account. It can store up to three local child profiles, including a profile identifier, name and avatar. For each profile, the app stores the selected vehicle and race track, completed learning rounds, total correct and incorrect answers, and learning progress for individual numbers, letters and colors. The daily play-time limit and the time already played that day are also stored locally. The app does not ask for a date of birth, contacts, location, photos or other account details.

3. Purposes and legal basis

This information is used only to show profiles and learning progress, remember the selected vehicle and track, and apply the daily play-time limit set by a parent. The app does not create online profiles from it. To the extent this processing concerns personal data, its legal basis is providing the app features you request (Article 6(1)(b) GDPR). Storage on the device that is necessary for these features is based, where applicable, on section 25(2)(2) of the German TDDDG.

4. Storage and deletion

Profiles, settings and learning statistics are stored in the app’s local storage on your device. The developer cannot retrieve them from a developer-operated server. They remain there until changed in the app or the app is deleted from the device. Depending on your device settings, iOS may include app data in a device or iCloud backup. What is backed up depends on the backup settings and the provider. Restoring a backup may restore previously saved app data.

5. In-app purchases and Apple

Premium purchases and their restoration are handled through Apple StoreKit and the App Store. Apple processes the Apple Account, payment and transaction information needed for the purchase under its own privacy terms. Through StoreKit, the app receives a transaction or entitlement status to unlock Premium content. The developer does not receive your payment credentials and does not operate a payment server. Apple may process data outside the EU/EEA under its own terms; see Apple’s privacy information linked at the end of this policy for details about data, retention and safeguards.

6. Read-aloud and permissions

Read-aloud uses audio files bundled with the app or Apple’s AVSpeechSynthesizer. Short sounds for correct and incorrect answers are generated directly on the device. Apple states that speech synthesis is generated on the device and is not sent to a server for processing. ABC-Race does not request microphone access, record voices or create voice recordings.

7. Servers, ads and tracking

The app uses no developer-operated servers, user accounts, advertising networks, analytics SDKs or cross-app tracking. Learning profiles and gameplay are not sent to the developer. Apple may separately process data when you use the App Store, your Apple Account, iOS backups or other Apple services; Apple’s own privacy terms apply to those services.

8. External links and email

If you open a link to an external website, email app or telephone app, your device connects directly to that provider. Technically necessary connection data, such as your IP address, may be sent to that provider. Its privacy information applies to that processing. If you email us, we process the sender details and message you provide to respond to your request. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for a request about using the app; for other enquiries, it is our legitimate interest in responding (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). We delete the information when the request is resolved unless statutory retention duties apply.

9. Your privacy rights

Subject to the legal requirements, you may request access to personal data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, and you may object to processing. You may withdraw consent at any time for the future where processing is based on consent. For a request or privacy question, contact Tobias Hauß at info@tobiashauss.de. Because learning profiles are stored only on your device, the developer cannot access them remotely; you can view them in the parents’ area. Local app data is removed when the app is deleted from the device. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

10. Children and parents

ABC-Race is designed for children. The app requires no registration and does not collect a child’s identity or age through developer-operated servers. Profiles and learning progress stay on the device. Parents can manage profiles, play time and Premium purchases in the parents’ area. Please open external links together with an adult.

11. Security

The app stores data in iOS’s app-protected storage and does not send game profiles to developer-operated servers. No technical system can guarantee absolute security. Protect your device with an up-to-date operating system and a device passcode.

12. Automated decisions

The app does not create advertising profiles or make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects.

13. Changes to this policy

This policy describes data handling in the current app version. It will be updated if app features or data practices change. Current as of 3 October 2026.
